Beyondthesud BETSUD è un ATS (Associazione Temporanea di Scopo) costituita da organismi di produzione e formazione del SUD, con lo scopo di creare delle opportunità di crescita professionale per giovani artisti, operatori e per le imprese in contesti internazionali, favorire lo scambio di buone pratiche, individuare nuove forme di sostenibilità, sviluppare partnership per la diffusione e la circuitazione della drammaturgia contemporanea e della performing art. In questo biennio di attività BETSUD ha focalizzato le sue azioni nel Latina America e nell’area euro-mediterranea, creando una rete di partenariato con Argentina, Brasile, Chile, Uruguay e Grecia.

Beyondthesud BETSUD is an ATS (Temporary Purpose Association) composed by SOUTH production and training organizations, with the aim of creating professional growth opportunities for young artists, operators and companies in international contexts, to encourage the exchange of best practices, identify new forms of sustainability, develop partnerships for the diffusion and circulation of contemporary dramaturgy and performing art. In this two-year period of activity, BETSUD has focused its actions in Latin America and the Euro-Mediterranean area, creating a partnership network with Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Greece.

Camilla Brison si è laureata in Scienze dei Beni Culturali presso l’Università degli Studi di Milano e l’Université de Nîmes (Programma Erasmus). A Londra ha conseguito il Master in Advanced Theatre Practice presso la Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Col progetto No land lady di Greta Cappelletti è stata finalista del bando Giovani Registi Under 30 della Biennale di Venezia che ha vinto il bando Cura 2020 e debutterà nell’ottobre del 2020 grazie al sostengo di OTSE- Officine Theatrikés Salento in 2020 e Compagnia Chronos3. Come regista ha inoltre diretto: Una Marchesa ad Assisi di Ippolita Baldini e Emanuele Aldrovandi, 3 Novembre e Sterili di Maria Teresa Berardelli, testo vincitore del Premio Riccione Tondelli 2009 e Vuoti di Memoria di Laura Tassi, Greta Cappelletti e Lorenzo Piccolo. Come assistente alla regia ha lavorato per: Il Macello di Giobbe di Fausto Paravidino, La vita Ferma di Lucia Calamaro, Queen Lear di Nina’s Drag Queens, Per il tuo Bene di Pier Lorenzo Pisano. Come traduttrice in italiano i suoi lavori includono: Kif Kif di Pietro Pizzuti, George Kaplan, di Frédéric Sonntag e Sicilia di Clyde Chabot, tutti dal francese. Dall’inglese ha tradotto Lessons Sweet and Honourable di Edward Fortes e Angry di Philip Ridley. Dal 2012 al 2015 stata membro del Comitato di Lettura e del laboratorio CRISI condotto da Fausto Paravidino. È stata commissaria di selezione per il Premio Riccione per il Teatro 2015 e 2017. Dopo un periodo di ricerca del 2018 sotto il tutorato della Maison Antoine Vitez e grazie ad una borsa di studio della regione Lazio, nel 2019 ha creato Italy Uncovered - new plays from Italy con Edward Fortes e Anna Landi, un festival di drammaturgia italiana contemporanea a Londra. Italy Uncovered è stato il primo passo di un progetto più ampio, LA PIZIA, incentrato sulla diffusione della drammaturgia italiana all’estero. Dal 2019 Camilla è regista di audiolibri per Emons Libri&Audiolibri. Oltre all’italiano, parla inglese, francese, spagnolo e portoghese.
Camilla Brison graduated with a degree in Cultural Studies from the Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy and the Université de Nîmes, France (Erasmus Programme). Her project No Land Lady by Greta Cappelletti was a finalist at the Venice Biennale Award for Young Directors 2018 and, after winning the 2020 Cure Call with two residencies, it will will have its national premiere in the autumn 2020, with the support of OTSE- Officine Theatrikés Salento in 2020 and Chrono3 Company. As a Director, other work includes: Una Marchesa ad Assisi by Emanuele Aldrovandi and Ippolita Baldini, Sterili by Maria Teresa Berardelli, Winner of the Riccione/Tondelli Prize for Playwriting Excellence 2009, and Vuoti di Memoria by Lorenzo Piccolo, Greta Cappelletti and Laura Tassi. As Assistant Director she has worked on Il Macello di Giobbe (The Slaughter of Job) by Fausto Paravidino and La vita ferma by Lucia Calamaro, presented at the 2017 Festival D’Automne de Paris, Queen Lear by NIna’s Drag Queens and Per il tuo Bene (For Your Own Good) by Pier Lorenzo Pisano. Her translations into italian include: Kif Kif by Pietro Pizzuti, George Kaplan by Frédéric Sonntag, Sicilia et Tunisia by Clyde Chabot, all from French. From English she has translated Lessons Sweet and Honourable by Edward Fortes and Angry by Philip Ridley. From 2012 to 2015 she was a member of the Teatro Valle Occupato's Script Committee and the CRISI Playwriting workshop, both led by Fausto Paravidino. In 2015 and 2017 she was chosen to be part of the Selection Committee for the Riccione Prize for Theatre. After a period of research in 2018 under the guidance of the Maison Antoine Vitez de Paris, thanks to a grant from the Regione Lazio, in 2019 she created Italy Uncovered - new plays from Italy with Edward Fortes and Anna Landi, a festival of New Italian Plays in London. Italy Uncovered was the first step of a larger project, LA PIZIA, focused on promoting contemporary Italian playwriting abroad. In 2019 she began working as audiobooks director for Emons Books&Audiobooks. In addition to Italian, she speaks English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

Mauro Lamanna, attore, regista e autore, è fondatore e direttore artistico del collettivo Divina Mania. Formatosi nei più importanti istituti italiani del settore, quali la Scuola Nazionale di Cinema - Centro sperimentale di Cinematografia e il Piccolo Teatro di Milano, prosegue i suoi studi tra New York e Shanghai. Per il teatro, lavora come attore insieme ad artisti del calibro di Giancarlo Giannini e Franco Zeffirelli. Cura la regia dello spettacolo Contro la libertà dell’autore catalano di fama internazionale Esteve Soler, nell’ambito del progetto Europe Connection durante il festival Primavera dei Teatri. Per il cinema lavora al fianco di premi Oscar, come il regista Danny Boyle, e gli attori Donald Shutterland e Hilary Swank. È regista di numerosi music video in cui affronta le complesse tematiche della società moderna; tra questi, l’opera ispirata alla tragica storia di DJ Fabo Tutte le volte, selezionato in molti festival internazionali. È in preparazione di Del padre e del figlio, film corto di cui è autore e regista.
Mauro Lamanna, actor, director and author, is the founder and artistic director of the Divina Mania collective. Trained in the most important Italian art institutes, such as the National Film School – Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and the Piccolo Teatro in Milan, he continued his studies between New York and Shanghai. He direct Against freedom, piece of the renowned Catalan writer Esteve Soler, as part of the Europe Connection project during Primavera dei Teatri festival. In cinema, he works alongside Oscar winners Danny Boyle, Donald Shutterland and Hilary Swank. He is the director of several music videos in which he treats the complex issues of modern society; among these, the work inspired by the tragic story of DJ Fabo Tutte le volte, selected in many international festivals. He’s preparing the Of the father and of the son, short film of which he’s author and director.

Originally from Greece, Lyto Triantafyllidou is a New York based theater director, interested in exploring new ideas, colorful stories and unfamiliar cultures, through creating theater works that expand an audience's moral imagination. She has presented work in different festivals and platforms in United States, UK, Israel and Greece. Lyto's latest work includes a production of Powder Her Face by Thomas Ades at the Greek National Opera (associate director), the performance "Call Elsewhere", based on the play “Elsewhere: a play for an audience of one” by Stav Palti Negev, presented at New York Live Arts. Guillermo Katz es director, actor, docente e investigador en teatro. Nació en Tucumán, Argentina en 1988 donde actualmente reside. Como pilares de su trabajo (re)aparecen la ironía y una mirada crítica hacia los modos de producción, el encuentro y las relaciones humanas como procedimientos artísticos y la actuación como lenguaje. Sus obsesiones son la intimidad y la cercanía y la construcción del material escénico a partir de la irreverencia y el exceso . Gestos políticos de resistencia a nuestra época hipermediatizada y de relaciones inmediatas, que buscan darle solidez a los cuerpos en presencia, a los vínculos y a las situaciones. Máster en Teatro y Performance por la Universidad de Lancaster, Inglaterra y Licenciado en Teatro por la Universidad Nacional de Tucumán.
Guillermo Katz (1988) is a theatre director, actor, professor and researcher from Tucumán, Argentina. The pillars of his work are relationships and encounters as artistic procedures, acting as a specific language and a sense of irony and a critical outlook towards production methods. His obsessions are intimacy and closeness and the production of scenic material based on irreverence and excess . These are all political gestures of resistance to the current hyper-mediatized times, of immediate and disposable relationships, that look to provide solidness to the bodies in presence, their relationships and the situations they experience. Master of Arts in Theatre and Performance (Lancaster University, UK) and Licentiate in Theatre (National University of Tucumán, Argentina).

Se gradúa en 2012 como Productor Audiovisual en Universidad ORT (Uruguay). En 2015 se gradúa como Actor en la Licenciatura en Artes Dramáticas de EMAD (Uruguay). Tiene estudios en escritura literaria, dramatúrgica y guión, así como en actuación y dirección, en Uruguay y en Argentina. Estudia Asistencia de Cámara en Uruguay Campus Film. Ha dirigido y escrito tres cortometrajes (“La gaviota disecada”, “Pieles y Rieles” y “La hora del puerco”), cuatro procesos teatrales (“Conversaciones con un muerto”, “Los Comensales”, “Las Peinadoras”, “Los Marginales”) y ha sido montajista de otras realizaciones (videoclips, shows en vivo y cortometrajes). Como actor se ha desempeñado en teatro convencional y callejero (“La familia Tibia”, “El lugar donde mueren los mamíferos”), óperas (“Hansel y Gretel”, “Macbeth”) y cine (“Hiu Sha Lai”, “Las rutas en febrero”). Ha sido Ayudante de Cátedra de “Estilos y Géneros Puros” (Levón Burunzusián); en EMAD y Asistente Docente de “Lenguaje audiovisual” (Pablo Ferré y Gerardo Castelli); en ORT y en “Talleres de Cine Pablo Ferré”. Continúa desempeñándose en docencia. En 2018 publicó su primera obra literaria. Se desempeñó como Asistente de Dirección en “Cuando pases sobre mi tumba” (de Sergio Blanco). Ensaya actualmente “El mito de Una Mujer Sin Nombre”.
On 2012 is graduated as a Audiovisual Producer by ORT University (Uruguay). On 2015 is graduated as an actor in the Bachelor of Dramatic Arts by EMAD (Uruguay). He has studies on literature scriptures, playwriting and film script, also in acting and directing (Uruguay and Argentina). He has studied Camera Assistant in Uruguay Campus Film. He has directed and written three short films (“The dissected seagull”, “Rails and skins” and “The pig's hour”), four theatical processes (“Conversations with a dead man”, “The Commensals”, “The Combers”, “The Marginals Marginals”) y has been an editor of anothers productions (videoclips, shows y shortfilms). As an actor has been performed on conventional theatre and street theatre (“The Tibia family”, “The place where mammals die”), opera (“Hansel and Gretel”, “Macbeth”) and cinema (“Hiu Sha Lai”, “Routes on February”). Has been teaching assistant of “Styles and Pure Genres” (Levón Burunzusián); at EMAD and teaching assistan on “Audiovisual Lenguage” (Pablo Ferré and Gerardo Castelli) at ORT and is currently teaching assistant of “Pablo Ferre's Cinema Courses”. Nowadays is a teacher of several theatre courses for children and professional actors. On 2018 he has published his own and first book so-called “The Alter Ego's Days”. Was Director Assistant of Sergio Blanco on “When you pass over my tomb”. Is currently rehearsing “The Myth of a Womanwithout a name”.

Juan Aguilera Justiniano nació en Talcahuano el 6 de agosto de 1985, Desde niño participó de talleres de teatro e incluso llegar a liderar uno cuando tenía 17 años. En su adolescencia se dedica al malabarismo y participa de ferias y talleres de clown. Luego toma un taller con Andrés del Bosque y decide estudiar teatro. en 2003 entra a la escuela de teatro de su ciudad. Ahí conoce a grandes compañeros con los que seguiría trabajando. Como Cristóbal Troncoso su compañero de universidad con quien se muda a la capital y funda Teatro La Concepción. El estreno de su primera obra “Canción para caminar sobre las aguas” en 2009 logra gran impacto y gira por países de Latinoamérica. Luego repetiría con la obra “poder de papel” giras por Europa, Latinoamérica. En 2014 retorna a su ciudad natal junto a Francisca Ovalle con quien tiene dos hijos, Manuel y Eloísa. En Concepción junto a Paolo Marisio comienzan con la compañía Teatro de Cancha. Y continúa con Teatro La Concepción. En 2019 realiza una residencia en Francia y crea la pieza “Á la dérive” con Teatro La Concepción. Actualmente Aguilera continúa junto a sus compañías y abrió una sala de teatro llamada Teatro Bandera Negra en Concepción.

Tatjana Motta studia Arti Visive e dello Spettacolo allo IUAV di Venezia e drammaturgia alla Civica Scuola Paolo Grassi a Milano. Il suo testo Tutto a fuoco debutta al Teatro Franco Parenti di Milano nella rassegna Teste inedite. Scrive il microdramma I palazzi esplodono, Edgar compra la dinamite che va in scena nel 2017 per il progetto Metropolis Promised Lands di Fondazione Milano. Dal 2018 fa parte del laboratorio permanente di drammaturgia Playstorm del Teatro Stabile di Torino. Nel 2019 è tra gli autori selezionati da BeyondtheSud per una residenza a Rio de Janeiro. Come drammaturga collabora con il Collettivo YHA! al progetto You Are Here, a partire da una ricerca sul territorio nella città di Bagnacavallo di Ravenna. Con il testo Notte bianca, vince il 55° Premio Riccione per il Teatro.
Tatjana Motta studied Visual and Performing Arts at the IUAV in Venice and Playwriting at the Civica Scuola Paolo Grassi in Milan. Her play Tutto a fuoco is staged at the Teatro Franco Parenti in Milan in the cycle Teste inedite. She writes the microdrama Buildings explodes, Edgar buys the dynamite that is staged in 2017 for the project Metropolis Promised Lands. Since 2018 she is part of Playstorm, the permanent dramaturgy workshop of the Teatro Stabile di Torino. In 2019 she is among the authors selected by BeyondtheSud for a residency in Rio de Janeiro. As a playwright she collaborates with the Collettivo YHA! to the project You Are Here, starting from a research on the territory in the city of Bagnacavallo, Ravenna. With the play Notte bianca, she wins the 55th Premio Riccione per il Teatro prize.

Greta Cappelletti nasce nel 1986. Vive e lavora a Milano dove ha studiato Scrittura teatrale alla Civica Scuola Paolo Grassi. Scrive per il teatro e la televisione. Nel 2015 è co-fondatrice della Compagnia The Baby Walk con l’autore e regista Liv Ferracchiati, dove lavora stabilmente come autrice e dramaturg. I loro lavori sono stati presentati in diverse realtà teatrali tra cui Theatre de la Ville (Paris), Teatro Elfo Puccini (Milano), Biennale di Venezia -Teatro-, Roma Europa Festival (Roma); la compagnia vince il Premio Scenario nel 2017. Nel 2018 il suo testo No Land Lady è stato presentato in forma di studio all biennale di Venezia -teatro- diretto da Camilla Brison, ed è vincitore del Bando Cura l’anno successivo. È finalista al Premio Pier Vittorio Tondelli nel 2015 con il testo Camera Oscura e al Premio Network Nuova Drammaturgia con Persi, presentato al Theatre 503 di Londra, diretto da Kate O’Connor. Pubblica Peter Pan guarda sotto le gonne (con Liv Ferracchiati) per la collana Cue Press e Persi per Editoria e Spettacolo.
Greta Cappelletti was born in 1986. She lives and works in Milan, where she studied Playwriting at the Civica Scuola Paolo Grassi. She writes for theatre and television. Danai is an interdisciplinary artist and art manager based in Athens. She holds an MA in Architecture, a BA in Dramatic Arts and is now finishing her MSc in Cultural Studies, while managing the FemMap Project, a cultural project for women’s empowerment. She has worked as an actress and performer in Greece and abroad -including big-scale projects such as documenta 14. She has also experience in theatrical writing –just published her first theatrical play- and directing. In 2018 she co-founded the b.p.m.(beats per minute) theater group and started working on theatrical production. Her research interests are public art and social theater. A common factor in her work is its social interest and her vision is to use arts to question social structures and empower oppressed groups.

Escritor, director y performer. Egresado de la carrera de Dramaturgia (EMAD) y estudiante de la Mestría en Dramaturgia (UNA). Docente en la Catedra de Dramaturgia de títeres y objetos. Participó de las residencias PANORAMA SUR 2015 y la residencia “A reinvençao do Cabaré” 2018. Recibió el premio Tomás Terry 2016, el Primer Premio en Dramaturgia del Fondo Nacional de las Artes 2017, el Premio Germán Rozenmacher a la Nueva Dramaturgia 2018 y la Beca de Movilidad del Fondo Nacional de las Artes 2019. Sus obras han sido estrenadas en festivales y teatros nacionales e internacionales, traducidas al francés, portugués e inglés y publicadas por las editoriales Ediciones Encendidas, Universidad Nacional del Sur, Libros del Rojas, Parador. Es performer de la banda "Putite de mamá" y la colectiva "Comparsa drag".

Desde joven empezó a experimentar con las letras. Cursó el bachillerato artístico, donde adquirió sus primeras nociones de dramaturgia. Estudió la carrera de formación actoral en la escuela ​ Implosivo Artes Escénicas ​ , y fue parte de la primer generación de la ​ Tecnicatura Universitaria de Dramaturgia ​ ​ (EMAD-FHCE)​ . Una de sus experiencias más importantes ha sido el montaje de su texto ​ Ruido ​ en el ​ Teatro Solís ​ , que le valió el premio ​ Noveles y Notables ​ del C CE ​ , ​ y el Premio ​ Florencio Sánchez ​ (categoría ​ Revelación ​ ) ​ ​ por su dramaturgia y dirección. Investiga a través del teatro performativo, la dramaturgia documental y la poesía. Ha obtenido menciones en distintos premios literarios, entre ellos: ​ Concurso Internacional de poesía joven Pablo Neruda ​ y Premio Literario ​ Juan Carlos Onetti.
He has started to experiment with letters since he was a child. He started learning dramaturgy while he was completing his secondary studies, specialising in the arts. He studied acting in Implosivo Artes Escénicas and took part of the first generation of graduates of the Tecnicatura Universitaria de Dramaturgia (EMAD-FHCE) . One of his most important experiences is the production of his play RUIDO in Teatro Solís, this play has also won Noveles y Notables award (CCE) and Florencio Sánchez award (new artist category), thanks to his work on dramaturgy and direction. He experiments with documentary dramaturgy and poetry through performative theatre. He has obtained mentions in a variety of literary awards, such as: Concurso Internacional de poesía joven Pablo Neruda y Premio Literario Juan Carlos Onetti.

Nace en la Isla de Chiloé en 1994. A los 17 años se traslada a Santiago para estudiar a la Universidad de Chile Licenciatura en Artes. Es invitado a Bolivia, Buenos Aires y Brasil a trabajar con performers LGBTIQ+ latinoamericanas. Desde lo anterior comienza a generar obra dramatúrgica y un poemario. Su trabajo reivindica desde lo performático el híbrido entre la poesía y el teatro. Es publicado en N.Y, Perú y Chile, donde gana premios por su escritura. Desde el 2017 trabaja entre Holanda, Alemania y Francia, en residencias con artistas ligados a la danza, artes visuales y cine. Su último trabajo genera gran controversia en la prensa Chilena debido a la censura de parte de grupos homófobos ligados a la Iglesia evangélica. Su proyecto actual es sobre el VIH y los procesos víricos latinos.
Born on Chiloé Island in 1994. At the age of 17, he moved to Santiago to study at the University of Chile, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. He is invited to Bolivia, Buenos Aires and Brazil to work with Latin American LGBTIQ+ performers. From this he begins to produce plays and a collection of poems. His work vindicates the hybrid between poetry and theatre from the performatic point of view. He is published in New York, Peru and Chile, where he wins prizes for his writing. Since 2017 he has been working in Netherlands, Germany and France, in residencies with artists linked to dance, visual arts and cinema. His latest work generates great controversy in the Chilean press due to censorship by homophobic groups linked to the Evangelical Church. His current project is about HIV and the Latin viral processes.

Con una educazione coreutica in danza classica, moderna e contemporanea fin dai 5 anni di età, consegue la maturità classica a Cava de’ Tirreni. Si laurea, con lode, in Scienze dello Spettacolo e produzione multimediale alla Sapienza – Università di Roma. Collabora dal 2013 con magazine e giornali regionali e nazionali, curando rubriche e approfondimenti di cultura e spettacolo. Per Cinematographe – FilmIsNow è editor e inviata ai grandi eventi tra cui i David di Donatello. Dal 2017 a gennaio 2020 è responsabile comunicazione e assistente di direzione al Balletto di Roma. Nel 2017 fonda con un gruppo di amici la Skratch.fab, start-up creativa che produce e distribuisce contenuti per il web, videoclip, commercial e cortometraggi. Ha pubblicato un saggio edito da La Biennale di Venezia.
With a choreutic education in classical, modern and contemporary dance from 5 years of age, she achieves high school diploma in Cava de ’Tirreni. She graduated with honors in Performing Arts and multimedia production at Sapienza - Università di Roma. She has been collaborating with magazines and newspapers since 2013, taking care of insights into culture and entertainment. For Cinematographe - FilmIsNow is editor and correspondent to major events including David di Donatello. From 2017 to January 2020 she’s communication and assistant manager at Balletto di Roma. In 2017 she founded Skratch.fab with a group of friends, a creative start-up that produces and distributes content for the web, video clips, commercials and short films. She has published an essay edited by La Biennale di Venezia.

Vittoria Lombardi è producer e curatrice freelance per le arti performative e progettista nel settore culturale. Nel 2018 avvia a Milano il progetto cultureandprojects attraverso il quale si occupa di pratiche curatoriali e accompagnamento alla produzione in una prospettiva internazionale. Collabora con la coreografa Elisabetta Consonni (Mi), le compagnie Effetto Larsen (Mi), Natiscalzi DT (Re), Opera Bianco (Tr). E' curatrice del festival Europe City Project (Mi). Attraverso un'ampia attività di networking (come membro di Culture Action Europe e European Alternatives e, attraverso C.Re.S.Co dei network IETM e EAIPA) promuove buone pratiche per l'individuazione di modi di produzione e approcci curatoriali sostenibili secondo una prospettiva crossculturale e transnazionale.
Vittoria Lombardi is a performing arts freelance producer and curator and a cultural project manager. In 2018 she started in Milan the agency cultureandprojects through which she promotes curatorial practices and production consultancy and development strategies in an international perspective. She works with the choreographer Elisabetta Consonni (Mi), the companies Effetto Larsen (Mi), Natiscalzi DT (Re), Opera Bianco (Tr). She is curator of the festival Europe City Project (Mi). Through a wide networking activity (as member of Culture Action Europe and European Alternatives and by C.Re.S.Co of IETM and EAIPA networks) she promotes good practices for the identification of sustainable modes of production and curatorial approaches in a cross-cultural and transnational perspective.
